Vancouver, British Columbia, July 5th, 2017. Newport Exploration Ltd (“Newport” or “the Company”) is able to provide an update on exploration activities on ex PEL 91 in the Cooper Basin, Australia on which the Company has a 2.5% gross overriding royalty. This information was reported by Beach Energy Ltd (“Beach”) in a news release dated July 5th, 2017, and reference should be made to Beach’s news release and their website for their interpretation of results and plans to bring wells into production.
As of June 30th, 2017, Beach report that they have a well stock of seven drilled and uncompleted oil wells in ex PEL 91. The Company is unable to report on the potential productivity for each well.
Beach also reported that a two-well oil appraisal campaign commenced in the Chilton Field, located approximately two kilometers south of the Bauer Field. The campaign is designed to appraise the extent and productivity of the McKinlay Member to the south and east of the currently producing wells, where there has been limited appraisal drilling to date. The first well of the campaign, Chiton-4, was plugged and abandoned due to lack of commercial pay.
The Company continues to strongly encourage shareholders and potential investors to access information released independently by Beach and Santos Ltd to keep current during exploration, development and production of all the licences subject to the Company’s gross overriding royalty.
